About Us

        The “Assam Rifles High School, Lokra, Dist-Sonitpur (Assam)-784102” was established as a welfare measure to provide low-cost quality education to the children of soldiers deployed in remote and difficult areas. The school is basically welfare measure running in no-profit, no-loss. The brief History of ARHS, Lokra is as under: -

Ø  Assam Rifles School, Lokra (Assam) was inaugurated by Mrs. Neeru Kumar, W/O Lt. Gen. Sushil Kumar and established in 1980 under the aegis of 5^th Battalion of Assam Rifles.

Ø  Inspector of Schols, Darrang District Circle, Tezpur (Assam) inspected the “Assam Rifles Junior Public School, Lokra” on 3^rd February, 1986 and issued Recognition Certificate (Letter No. 8/Ins/Ven/1) on 25^th February, 1986 to run classes from I to VIII w.e.f. Academic Session 1985-86.

Ø  Additional Director of Secondary Education, Assam, Kahilipara, Guwahati-19 accorded provisional academic permission (Memo No. GB/PR/29/95/7 dated 6^th June, 1995) to establish a new High School and open Class-VIII in the “Assam Rifles High School, Lokra” (run by 31 Assam Rifles) w.e.f. 1^st January, 1995.

Ø  Inspector of Schols, Sonitpur District Circle, Tezpur (Assam) issued “No Objection Certificate” to the “Assam Rifles High School, Lokra” (run by 31 Assam Rifles) on 28^th February, 2002 for affiliation to CBSE, New Delhi.

Ø   HQ DGAR, Shillong issued a letter to change the names of all Assam Rifles schools on 24^th January, 2003. New name of school was known as “Assam Rifles School, Lokra (Assam)”.

Ø  CBSE team inspected the “Assam Rifles Middle School, Lokra (Assam)” on 8^th April, 2003. After inspection, CBSE granted provisional approval of syllabus for Middle Classes (I to VIII) on 15^th September, 2004 (Letter No. CBSE/Aff./2352/230052/04/383-86) for a period of 3 years w.e.f. 1^st April, 2003 to 31^st March, 2006. Code No. allotted to school was 2352/230052.

Ø  Class-IX started w.e.f. Session: 2006-07 but case of upgradation/affiliation could not be processed in June, 2005 due to taken over by 43 Assam Rifles from 31 Assam Rifles.

Ø  Provisional Affiliation (1^st Affiliation No. allotted: 230052) for Secondary School Examination of the Board sanctioned by CBSE (Letter No. CBSE/Aff./230052/SL-00307-0708/2007-08/ dated 18^th January, 2007) for a period of 03 Years w.e.f. 1^st April, 2007 to 31^st March, 2010. The “Assam Rifles School, Lokra (Assam)” had started CBSE pattern Class-IX w.e.f. 1^st April, 2007 accordingly 1^st Batch of Class-X students appeared at the CBSE Examination in the Year-2009.

Ø  Extension of Provisional Affiliation (Affiliation No. 230052) granted to “Assam Rifles Middle School, Lokra (Assam)” for a period of 05 Years w.e.f. 1^st April, 2008 to 31 March, 2013.
